The story

For five days, the edge of Sloterplas turns into a slightly surreal neighbourhood festival. Come for dinner at one long table, stay as the sun disappears over the lake, then find a deckchair or hammock for an outdoor film. This year's theme is Surrealism, with films alongside music, art, theatre, workshops and food. On Friday and Saturday, you can book into one of the communal dinners before the film; Sunday starts with a Mad Hatter neighbourhood brunch.

The evening
  1. Book the long-table dinner

Friday's is hosted by De Sering; Saturday has a separate Buurtdiner with Kaskeerweer. Come hungry and make this the start of the night rather than just grabbing something before the film.

  2. Stay around for sunset

There's music, art, workshops and performances happening around the site. Find something interesting, get a drink and claim your spot by the water.

  3. Watch a film by the water

The programme changes nightly, all loosely connected by this year's surrealism theme.

Why Tonight?

A long table by the lake, something unexpected happening nearby, then a film outside after dark. It feels more like stumbling into a tiny neighbourhood festival than going to the cinema.
